We started hosting our epic Clothing Swaps in 2023 to bring our North Shore community together to celebrate wearing, sharing, and caring for secondhand clothing. It's become a beloved tradition at Eleventh House Vintage, and one of my favorite parts is seeing strangers become new friends while cheering each other on in the clothing piles. Whether you're a newbie or a returning regular looking for a refresher, here are our tips for a fun and successful swap!

Swap Do’s and Dont’s

DO: Purchase your ticket in advance! $5 admission to participate.

DO: Bring 5-10 garments or accessories in good, wearable condition. Items can be modern or vintage. Clothing for all sizes, genders, and ages are welcome.

DON’T: Bring underwear or socks unless they are unworn and new with tags.

DO: Bring textiles for recycling. These can be ripped or stained. They must be bagged separately. Drop them off at our textile recycling station the day of the swap.

DON’T: Bring wet or moldy textiles or clothing! They can’t be swapped or recycled.

DO: Drop off your swap items in advance during our drop-off period for an 11% off shop coupon good on the day of the swap, OR simply bring your items with you to the swap and drop them off with our volunteers who will sort them for you!

DO: Bring clothing needing basic repairs, like simple hems or buttons replaced. One of our Swap Volunteers will be mending on-site for an additional donation. No appointment necessary; first-come, first-served.

DO: Take home as many items as you like! Any items left at the end of the day will be donated to our community partners.

DO: BYOT (bring your own tote bag) for your finds!

DO: Wear leggings and a tank or tee so that you can try clothing on easily. There are no fitting rooms available.

DO: Come and go as much as you like! We recommend doing a first round in the morning, then taking a break to shop and eat at the Mills, then coming back before close to see what’s new!
